A Small Frippery...

Here's a small hare embroidered picture.

He looks a little startled.
I love it when I stitch something and its character emerges.
(I've told him there's nothing to worry about!)

A Special Present...

I wanted to make a special present for a good friend of mine who is soon to be wed.
A keepsake of some kind.
I tried to include little lucky charms,
symbolic wedding rings,
and the date of their wedding...
all tied onto the key to their happiness.

( I've gone a bit soppy in my old age!)

Painting In Earnest...

I've been splashing the paint around in the last few days before Mini Goth breaks up for the summer.
I quite enjoy a self-imposed deadline and I like knowing that I don't HAVE to paint in the holidays, if I don't want to, (which I will!)
Anyways, this is what I've finished this morning.
'Patch Field Hare'.
Hope you like!

Rabbit Wishes...

There was a girl who knew
that if she wished really hard,
for long enough,
she would one day
become a rabbit.
This is a painting for a group exhibition to be held at The Steel Rooms, Brigg next Spring.
This will be a show from a group of arty friends who work in a wide variety of media.
Hope you like, (or have I gone bonkers in this hot weather?)

Summer Painting...

Now that college has broken up for the summer, I have a little time to paint and pootle before Mini Goth starts her holidays too.
Yesterday I didn't know what I wanted to do.
I just knew that I wanted to do something.
I chucked on the paint and listened to Radio Six, and slowly but surely this familiar figure appeared.
I'm quite obsessed with 'English' ladies, with their manicured gardens and manicured manners.
Are they really like that?
(This one has a twinkle in her eye!)

Printing And Playing.....

I've been playing around with paint and print techniques as part of my Hope and Elvis workshop preparations.
I've had great fun trying out new things (I've also had some spectacular failures but that's all part of the challenge!)
I think I had Cornwall on my mind as I started this.
Hope you like!

Fond Farewells...

It's always the same with this teaching malarkey.
Students move on and it's a bitter sweet time of the year.
But when three of your treasured friends move onto pastures new, I am left wondering whether this little heart cannot help but break.
This is the journal I made for one of my friends.
You will be so missed....
but I just know it will have one of these...
